Sandra Goudie has withdrawn her Dog Control (Epilepsy Assist Dogs) Amendment Bill, on the basis that similar provisions are already contained in the government's Local Government Law Reform Bill, which went to committee last month. As a result, they're holding a ballot today to select a replacement Member's Bill. The list is essentially the same as it was last week, with only two new additions:
- Animal Welfare (Openness of Information Pertaining to the Use of Animals in Research, Testing, and Teaching) Amendment Bill (Jeanette Fitzsimons);
- Liquor Advertising (Television and Radio) Bill (Nandor tanczos)
The latter at least has been before the House before, and is available online here.
In other news, Sue Bradford's Crimes (Abolition of Force as a Justification for Child Discipline) Amendment Bill has been delayed in committee. The original report-back date was 31st of August, and it has now reportedly been pushed back to 31st of October. I'm not sure yet whether this means the bill is in serious trouble - or whether they simply need more time to consider the submissions.
