Ending capital punishment, one country at a time

The Philippines has abolished the death penalty and commuted all death sentences to life imprisonment. This makes it the 87th country (and only the 6th in East Asia) to have gone abolitionist.

If you're wondering how much progress is being made on ending the death penalty worldwide, Wikipedia has a handy map here.

Pity that even though some victims don't die 'in fact' they do become the living dead so they might as well have been killed. I guess victims just aren't very sexy.

Many victims do die of course (no appeal process for them) and (if they had people who cared about them) leave living dead behind.

I see the lawyers in the murdered twins case are behaving with the concern for justice we have come to expect. They sure are a sick and disgusting bunch.
