The Tongan strike has overflowed to New Zealand. The King of Tonga is currently in residence in Auckland, and yesterday around 50 protestors showed up outside his Epsom house to demand a meeting. They're back again today - except this time there are twice as many. It's good to see the local Tongan community standing up for democracy (and make no mistake, that's partly what the strike is about), and hopefully there'll be more there tomorrow.

Good on yu Tongans (NZ) please go all the way for the sake of democracy. It has been far too long for us to live under the dictatorship of the monarchy they are doing this in a nice but hidden ways. They (monarchy)suffocated our financial resources for many years and gave so little to the people of Tonga. At the same time, they are loaded with millions and millions of Tongan government money and they achieved that through cunning, lying, deceiving and don't care attidtudes about people of Tonga. For example, The missing $40 million from selling the Tongan passport were missing and the $35 million satellite deal was all but given to the Richest princess (Tonga) in the World. Now it will come back to bite them on the arse for not respecting its people. The Royal family forget one thing "they are who they are because of the people value." The Royal household need to be removed completely aside from the Government arrangement if Tonga were to make any improvements or difference from this strike. There is no use of going halfway here that you already started and if you are not careful you could end up in the same mess or worse in future. The main problem in the Tongan Government is the structure that encouraged nepotism for years especially the Royal and the Heirarchy (Nobles)whom they have little knowledge and skills or competent enough to make the right decision in the best interest of Tonga. There are enough skills people in Tonga that could easily utilise in those key position. As long as they are properly recruited and fully assessed to meet the requirements and above all their personality. However, Good luck to all the people of Tonga my heart is with you all the way in the name of democracy.
Cheers
