Delayed again

National has announced that it will release its tax policy next Monday - the third or fourth time they've shifted it. Which I think is yet another blow to their credibility. If they can't even be relied upon to keep their promises with regards to when they will release a policy, how can we possibly trust them on more substantive matters?

You just can't wait to see what they've come up with :)

Hey Idiot, just interested in what you would have said if the Nats had released their tax policy on the day of Lange's funeral?

Benny:

Idiot probably would have been all over it as proof of how crass and out of touch with ordinary New Zealanders National is - politicing while "the whole country" mouned the passing of a secular God. S/he'd also be having a good laugh at the utter naivety of releasing a major policy on the one day it was guaranteed not to lead any media outlet.

This shift may be entirely justified ... all campaigning should cease for Lange's funeral and memorial service (just as it did for Reagan's in the US as I recall).

However, the motives for the previous 2-3 delays/reschedulings are less benevolent.

You mean 7 or 8

It's a fair question isn't it? How about a response?

bennyasena and craig,

Given what I know about Idiot, I can't see him complaining about anyone releasing any information anytime. The man's a data junkie.

But National hasn't deferred it from the day of Lange's funeral. They've deferred it from the day before Lange's funeral.

Unlike Idiot, I'm not upset about this as a "broken promise".

This just looks to me like National continuing to try to get more publicity for the release of their key election policy and build up more of a sense of suspense regards their tax cuts.

C'mon. Let's see it. Lets see National try to both keep to its ideology (by cutting taxes for the well off) and try to win votes at the same time.
