A worthy recipient

Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre director Shamima Ali has been awarded Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand's inaugural Human Rights Defender Award. She's a worthy recipient. Through her work with the FWCC, Ali has done a lot for women’s' rights in Fiji. And she has been a staunch opponent of Fiji's military dictatorship, speaking out despite threats and intimidation. Long may she keep up the good work!
